The formal president has been urged to render an unqualified apology to all Ghanaians for shoving dust in their eyes during the recent socioeconomic upheaval the country was experiencing, according to the general secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The chief scribe believes that the former president is aware of the underlying causes of the economic situation, but he misled Ghanaians in order to advance his political career and serve his own self-interest by claiming that the vice president Bawumia-led economic management team is to blame for the current state of affairs.
According to Justin Frimpong Kodua, popularly known as JFK, the formal head of state is aware of external events such as the Russian-Ukrainian war and the COVID-19 epidemic, both of which the IMF acknowledged through its managing director-Kristalina Georgieva and therefore should render an unqualified apology to all meaningful Ghanaians with immediate effect.
“Indeed the IMF confirm to this through its managing director- Kristalina Georgieva who on the 5th september 2022 at the African Adaptation summit in the Netherlands stated categorically that the economic challenges confronting Ghana cannot be attributed to government policies but rather exogenous forces occasioned by Covid 19 pandemic and Russia-Ukraine war. She added that, but for these external factors, the Ghanaian economy would have remained strong and resilient”.
He added that John Mahama and the NDC concur with the NPP government and the IMF that the socioeconomic turmoil was certainly caused by it, but that the former president wanted to earn political points by disputing it when speaking at home. When President Mahama attends international gatherings, he acknowledges this, the speaker noted.
The former NEIP boss was speaking today, December 21, at a news conference held by the New Patriotic Party at its headquarters in Accra. earlymorningInfo.com was watching the event live on Facebook.
