John Dramani Mahama, a former president, has urged the Ghana Police Service and other security organizations to always act impartially and without prejudice in the performance of their duty.
At the conclusion of his three-day trip to the Eastern region, Mr. Mahama spoke to branch and constituency executives of the Lower West Akyem and Upper West Akyem constituencies at Asamankese. He made it clear that the security services are loyal to the state, not political parties.
When chaos breaks out, he advised the security services to refrain from backing any political party.
“Security agencies, your loyalty is to the state and not to a political party. You don’t have to support only one political party when chaos erupts. You need to be neutral,” he said.
